The Art of Happiness

Posted on

During his trip to Italy the Dalai Lama, the exhiled Tibetan Buddhist spiritual leader, has chosen to stay at a hotel in my home town.
Amazing?  Much more.  I couldn’t hardly see him in the crowd, but I felt incredibly lucky to listen to his words.
He spoke about peace and compassion.  He spread joy and positivity, despite the fact that he is old and he is living in exile.   His book “The Art of Happiness” is a hymn for achieving inner peace, through meditation and a positive attitude.

Last night we were looking at the same starry sky because, yes, he was up at 3.30 o’clock in the morning for his daily meditation.  And I was up trying to calm my son, bothered by the heat.
Different experiences, same sleeping deprived nights!  But you know happiness is a state of mind…

When I saw him, something happened inside me. I started feeling a deep sense of calm and joy.
That feeling lasted for days. I hope that I’ll meet him again!
